FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT DOES "Fírinne agus eolas a lorg" MEAN?

  • Our school motto means "seeking truth and knowledge" in Irish.

IS THIS A LEGAL SCHOOL?

  • Yes, we are considered a private school. The Raven Academy of Mystical Arts is exempt from licensure pursuant to the Private Career School Act, specifically pursuant to the following section, Minn. Statutes 136A.833 Subd 2 (18); (18) private career schools providing exclusively training, instructional programs, or courses where tuition, fees, and any other charges for a student to participate do not exceed $100.

HOW MUCH DO CLASSES COST?

  • We operate on a pay-what-you-can basis. We will never turn anyone away for their inability to pay. Tuition is a maximum of $30 per trimester. Please view our handbook for more information.

WHAT'S THE PURPOSE OF ORDINATION? WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TRACKS?

  • Ordination allows one to perform weddings and handfastings. If they so choose, students will also be able to open their own ministry under the belief system of the School & Temple, The Aduno Path. On a more spiritual basis, many of our students choose Ordination to grow more secure in their understanding and craft. These students work more closely with the Deans of their respective Houses.

HOW WILL I KNOW WHAT CLASSES TO TAKE?

  • When new students confirm their enrollment or returning students re-enroll, they will be able to tell our counselors their goals and how many classes they believe they can handle. Counselors will suggest classes for them to take the coming trimester.

HOW ARE CLASSES STRUCTURED?

  • Each trimester is eight weeks long. There will be video and/or text lessons every week along with discussions and any homework regarding the week's lesson in the forum for each class. There are no live classes, so students are able to set aside time each week to participate in their studies.

CAN I SWITCH HOUSES AT ANY TIME?

  • Once the trimester begins, you will not be able to switch to a different House or switch on to/off of the Ordination Track. Before registration for the current trimester ends, you should reach out to a member of the High Council stating your intent to switch.

  • If you are not in the Ordination track and you wish to switch to a different House, simply wait until the trimester ends to let someone know you wish to switch. If you are in the Ordination track and no longer wish to be, do the same.

  • If you are in the Ordination track and you wish to switch to a different House while also remaining in the Ordination track, you must also wait til the end of the trimester and seek permission from the Dean of the House to which you want to switch. Your credits will be recalculated and you may have more - or less - time needed to complete your Ordination.

MUST I ONLY TAKE CLASSES WITHIN MY HOUSE?

  • You can be in any House that best fits your path while still enrolled in classes from other Houses. For Standard Track students, the Houses are more so meant to provide an area of focus and do not matter as much.

HOW MANY CLASSES DO I HAVE TO TAKE? CAN I DROP A CLASS AFTER THE TRIMESTER BEGINS?

  • Students can take as many or as little classes per trimester as they like. In order to receive twelve credits by the end of this school year, we suggest taking four credits each trimester.

  • Once registration ends, students are able to drop classes by either finding the cancellation link in the confirmation email they got when registering or messaging a Dean.

CAN I RE-ENROLL AFTER I GRADUATE?

  • Students mostly ask this after stating that they would like to take a large number of classes. Graduation is an option students can apply for any time once they achieve twelve credits. Students may take as many courses as they like for as long as they like.

HOW DOES GRADING WORK?

  • Homework will be up to the discretion of the teacher. Some teachers may not assign homework but just have discussions the entire trimester. Other teachers may have homework, midterms, and finals. While grades and participation matter, we are more concerned with our students getting a top notch education.
